About

This theme was a grand tribute to the Amazon rainforest, the city of Manaus, and the mythical city of Manôa (the legendary El Dorado). It explored the natural beauty, the indigenous legends, and the economic importance of the region, while also sounding a call for environmental preservation and respect for the "Holy Land" of the Amazon.

The parade featured gigantic floats representing the flora and fauna of the jungle, as well as the diverse cultures of the people who inhabit the region. It touched upon the rubber boom, the Manaus Opera House, and the spiritual connection between the forest and its inhabitants. The school aimed to showcase the Amazon as a source of life and balance for the entire planet.

Beija-Flor brought its signature luxury to the theme, using vibrant greens and blues to represent the forest and the rivers. The enredo was a celebration of Brazilian identity through one of its most iconic and vital regions, blending mythology with contemporary environmental concerns.

Result: 1st Place (Champion).

Trivia: This was the second title in a "tricampeonato" for Beija-Flor (2003, 2004, 2005), during a period of near-total dominance by the school.
