This enredo explored the deep cultural and spiritual links between Brazil and India, focusing on the shared vibrancy, religious syncretism, and the colorful festivities of both nations. It celebrated Indian mythology, the figure of Mahatma Gandhi, and the influence of Indian spices, textiles, and philosophy on Brazilian culture.
The parade framed the connection as a spiritual greeting—a "Namastê"—between two "stars" (the Indian star and the Mocidade star). It highlighted the commonalities in the way both peoples celebrate life through dance, music, and devotion, emphasizing a message of peace, tolerance, and mutual respect between different traditions.
The visual presentation used a palette of rich, spicy colors and grand allegories depicting the Taj Mahal and various Hindu deities. It was a sophisticated and respectful tribute that aimed to show how the "divine light" within each individual can serve as a bridge between distant cultures.
Result: 6th Place.
Trivia: To ensure cultural accuracy, the school’s designers consulted extensively with the Indian Embassy, and the parade featured actual members of the Indian diplomatic mission and the Indian community in Brazil.
