This enredo celebrated the vast and rich history of Brazilian music, positioning Mangueira as the ultimate guardian and cradle of the nation's rhythmic identity. The theme traveled through various genres, from the classical influences of Villa-Lobos to the popular beats of the Northeast, showing how all these diverse sounds eventually converge in the soul of the samba school.
The parade was a vibrant tribute to the great composers and performers of Brazil, emphasizing that samba is the ultimate synthesis of the country's musical heritage. It explored the instruments, the melodies, and the social contexts that gave birth to Brazil's unique sound, honoring both the sophisticated "choro" and the raw energy of the street festivals.
Visually, the school used its iconic green and pink to create a grand "orchestra" on the avenue, with floats representing different musical eras and styles. It was an educational and festive journey that reinforced Mangueira's role as a national cultural symbol, proving that the school's heart beats in time with the entire country's musical history.
Result: 6th Place.
Trivia: The parade featured a special "surdo" (bass drum) that was one of the largest ever used in a Special Group parade, requiring several men to carry and play it.
