About

This enredo was a grand tribute to the "Doces Bárbaros"—the musical group formed by Caetano Veloso, Gilberto Gil, Maria Bethânia, and Gal Costa. It celebrated their influence on Brazilian music and their deep connection to Mangueira, particularly Bethânia, who is a devoted "Mangueirense." The title refers to the school's magnetic pull, suggesting that the joy and the history of Mangueira are irresistible to anyone who is alive.

The parade was a star-studded celebration of the Tropicália movement and the enduring bond between the green and pink school and the giants of MPB. It explored the themes of freedom, cultural resistance, and the fusion of different musical styles that the "Doces Bárbaros" pioneered.

The presentation was a vibrant and emotional gathering of the "royalty" of Brazilian music on the avenue.

Result: 11th Place.

Trivia: Despite the low score from the judges, this samba-enredo became a massive commercial success and is still one of the most played in Brazil.
