Celebrating the centenary of the Proclamation of the Republic in Brazil, this enredo focused on the concept of freedom. It traced the history of the struggle for liberty in the country, from the abolition of slavery to the end of the monarchy and the birth of the republic. 

The parade was a majestic display of historical figures and symbolic representations of freedom. The lyrics of the samba-enredo became an instant classic, with its soaring chorus calling for liberty to "spread its wings over us." It was a moment of great civic pride and reflection on the democratic path of the nation. 

The visual presentation was characterized by the elegance and technical perfection that became the hallmark of carnival designer Rosa Magalhães. The school used the theme to celebrate the resilience of the Brazilian people and their continuous quest for a more just and free society. 

Result: 1st Place (Champion). 

Trivia: The chorus of this samba is so iconic that it is often sung in Brazil during political demonstrations and national celebrations, transcending the world of carnival.
